The shooting death of Trayvon Martin is out of focus and out of reality in many ways. Drama has taken center stage as crises usually do. The truth is buried and we all think we understand the facts. We know nothing of the sort unless we are Trayvon or Mr. Zimmerman. Having served on a sequestered murder trial for a month I can tell you without a doubt there is much more lying, blaming and hysterics than truth coming so far.
The police and Justice department are doing what they should do. They are taking their time, they are assessing the facts. However much people desire quick justice this cannot and should not be the case. Obviously there are race issues, there are issues of stereotypes, gun laws,, etc...but none of the people have the keen wit, eye or awareness to coalesce this into a cogent scenario.
It is time to stop. It is time to focus on the fact that someone died and his family and friends are going through the standard grief stages. Anger and Blame are its focus right now. It is time to be aware of the thoughts and feelings of the man who pulled the trigger and his family; fear, angst and waiting to see if their loved one did "the right thing" or was this an act of manslaughter. We are all so quick to blame instead of stepping up and helping all those to see with clarity the issues. We feel when we have a thought. There is no such thing as having a thought without a feeling.
Meditate on sending peace and loving kindness into this situation not the unsubstantiated use of anger, hatred, blame or vengeance.
